Meet Craig from Atlas Material Testing Technology
Craig is a longtime member of the Atlas Material Testing Technology sales team. His AMETEK journey has taken him all the way from Chicago to Japan, assisting customers along the way. Learn more about Craig’s AMETEK career.
Craig is the Asia Sales Director for Atlas Material Testing Technology. He is currently located in Tokyo, Japan. How did your AMETEK career begin?
I joined Atlas in 2002 as a Sales Representative. From there, I took responsibility for different parts of the globe, including Southeast Asia. Then, in 2011, I had the opportunity to move to Japan and have been here ever since.
You are currently the Asia Sales Director for Atlas. What does this position entail?
Atlas provides testing services to predict the impact of weather on materials. My mission is to equip our Asia team with the knowledge and tools of accelerated weathering technology so they can help our customers reach their research and product development goals.

What is the best part of working in your role?
Our accelerated weathering technology is used to develop long lasting materials in a fraction of the time they’re supposed to last in the real-world. My greatest satisfaction is showing customers how and why our differentiated products and services increase confidence in material service life prediction. Even more satisfying is helping our sales teams demonstrate why customers should partner with Atlas to achieve their product development goals.
What are some things you do in your personal time to maintain a work-life balance?
I love cycling and actually brought my recumbent bike from Chicago to Japan. The best thing about the recumbent is that you sit in a comfortable and natural position and can also enjoy the wonderful view of the surroundings. I like to cruise along the Tama River and through Tokyo’s Ginza shopping district.
In his free time, Craig rides a recumbent bicycle around the city. What do you find most compelling about a career with AMETEK?
