Haydon Kerk Pittman became a part of the AMETEK family of businesses since 2010, providing customers with innovative products that revolutionize the world we live in.
HKP has an illustrious history of innovation that dates all the way back to the 1930s with the founding of Pittman – a manufacturer of small precision DC motors and gear motors. Twenty years later, Haydon Switch and Instrument was established to produce aircraft sealed switches, and later developed a portfolio of stepper motor-based actuators. In the 1970s, Kerk Motion Products was founded and began producing rolled leadscrews and molded nuts for the growing machine and process automation industries, later developing complete linear guides systems and linear stages with anti-backlash features.
The three business lines catered primarily to machine builders by offering seemingly infinite customization combinations. This common business model was one of the reasons AMETEK combined the three businesses to produce complete linear and rotary motion solutions.

Meet Esra – a Project Manager for Haydon Kerk Pittman. As a Project Manager, Esra acts as a customer advocate to ensure project goals are delivered on time and to the highest quality.
She sets program milestones, translates user requirements into engineering specifications, and delegates tasks to teams of professionals across multiple departments and locations.
Esra has been with HKP since 2022 and is embracing the opportunities that the business has offered her.

HKP exemplifies what it means to support their community. In partnership with the AMETEK Foundation, this AMETEK business supports several non-profit organizations in the Waterbury, CT area and beyond. HKP is a longtime supporter of Connecticut Foodshare – a food bank serving the people of Connecticut and a member of the national Feeding America Network – and annually volunteers and donates to the non-profit. The team also supports the United Way of Greater Waterbury, holding Giving Tree and Stock the Pantry fundraisers to support the organization.
